Screw writing “strong” women. Write interesting women. Write well-rounded women. Write complicated women. Write a woman who kicks ass, write a woman who cowers in a corner. Write a woman who’s desperate for a husband. Write a woman who doesn’t need a man. Write women who cry, women who rant, women who are shy, women who don’t take no shit, women who need validation and women who don’t care what anybody thinks. THEY ARE ALL OKAY, and all those things could exist in THE SAME WOMAN. Women shouldn’t be valued because we are strong, or kick-ass, but because we are people. So don’t focus on writing characters who are strong. Write characters who are people.

Well done Pixar for creating a movie that all the class of 2013 needs to see. How they knew that this was great timing makes me feel like the vastly great universe revolves around me. ;)

What I’ve learned is that passion leads the way, knowledge supports you, and to cross that finish line, you have to let go of your concentration and just let the feels take over. Just let the creativity happen now that you have everything else.

Also, getting kicked out of college is very unideal, but I love how there are several paths to achieve the same ending. Willpower does get you somewhere.

And I applaud tht amazing build up scene at the end. And the vulnerable moment of sharing different insecurities. This isn’t a movie I will be forgetting anytime soon. So thank you.
